In response to the growing and changing needs in the community, Sophia Avery has created a new design to enhance the services provided by traditional Mercy and Missions ministries.  

Introducing the

First Responders Ministry

The First Responders Ministry is an “infrastructure-building” ministry designed to help churches create a structure for handling requests for assistance that is both efficient and effective.  The First Responders ministry design utilizes both internal and external resources to help people in times of crisis.  By linking people in need with community-based Social and Human service providers and non-profit organzations, the church can return to its standing as a beacon in the community through which other resources can be accessed.

The most unique aspect of the First Responders ministry lies in its team-based approach to helping people in crisis.  A Care Manager oversees each team and ensures that the person in crisis receives the help they need. By using a team-based approach, the First Responders ministry is able to function in a fair and impartial way that promotes peace in the church while also reducing recidivism by ensuring that a comprehensive response is provided to each person requesting assitance.

In addition to revolutionizing church and community relations, the First Responders ministry has several committees that provide new opportunities for church members to serve God in a new way.
